CALIFORNIA YOUNG READER MEDAL

Each year, students read the nominated books and vote for their favorite book in three different categories.

We read the 5 nominated Primary Picture Books (K-3)
and the 3 nominated Picture Books for Older Readers (3rd-5th grade)
together during library time.

Students in 4th-5th grade may read the 3 nominated Intermediate Novels on their own.
Students who read all 3 books and complete one of the related activities for each book
(i.e. Reading Counts quiz, book review, art inspired by the novel)
are invited to the Voting Party held in March each year.
