Hello,

I’m Karla Swisher, Poinsettia Elementary School’s art teacher. I graduated from Northwest University with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in history.  I taught elementary school for 9 years in Washington State. I have taught 4th grade, 2nd grade, and full-day kindergarten…and now Art!

I enjoy teaching art because I get to challenge students to become creators.  Art class is a screen-free time to explore different mediums and be exposed to various artists, that will help inspire the student’s creativity as they become artists.  

I’m looking forward to learning, creating, and getting messy in the Poinsettia art room once again this year.
